Noel a la neige... - A white Christmas...

Nous avons eu beaucoup de mal a arriver (apres un vol annule, une nuit a l'hotel a Tokyo, un vol retarde, un changement d'aeroport d'arrivee et une valise perdue!), mais nous avons reussi a rejoindre l'Angleterre pour y passer la semaine de Noel... et ce fut un Noel blanc, et glacial, ce qui n'est pas courant en Angleterre. Mais cela ne nous a pas empeche de passer une excellente semaine...

We had lots of difficulties to reach our destination (a cancelled flight, a night in an hotel in Tokyo, a delayed flight, a different airport of arrival and a lost luggage!), but we finally managed to reach England to spend the Christmas week there... and it was a white and very cold Christmas. We still enjoyed a very nice week...

And they loved the popping cork of champagne bottles (Oscar was already used to it... I wonder why?!)

Le concert de Noel - Christmas concert

Mardi 14 Decembre, c'etait le concert de Noel. Oscar nous chantait depuis deja des semaines les chansons qui allaient faire partie du concert... c'etait tres drole! Une chanson ou tous les plus petits devaient chanter seuls... aucun n'a laisse echappe un son! Alors que la veille, Oscar chantait a tue-tete!!! Et le fameux "Avez-vous une chambre pour nous?" lorsque Joseph cherche une auberge pour la nuit du 24 Decembre restera celebre... Oscar l'a beaucoup repete et notamment lorsque nous avons ete bloques dans les aeroports lors de vacances de Noel en Europe... a la reception des hotels!

Tuesday 14 December, it was the Christmas concert. Oscar was singing the songs which were going to be part of concert weeks before... it was very funny! One song where all the youngest ones had to sing alone... none of them made a sound! The day before, Oscar was screaming his head off! And the famous "Do you have a room for us?" as when Joseph is looking for a room in an inn on Christmas eve.. Oscar repeated it hundreds of times and he also practiced it when we were blocked in airports during the Christmas holidays in Europe... at the reception of the hotels where we were trying to get in!

Humm... teppanyaki!

Nous avons ete dinner tous ensemble dans un restaurant japonais de style teppanyaki. Le chef cuit les aliments devant vous sur une plaque chauffante qui fait partie de la table, et on mange des legumes et de la viande (boeuf tres tendre) grilles... c'etait delicieux! Mais comme d'habitude, Oscar n'a pas ete emballe par la gatronomie mais plus par l'aquarium qu'il y avait dans l'entree du resto!

We went the 3 of us in a japanese style restaurant, teppanyaki. The cook grilled the vegetables and meat (very tender beef) in front of you, on the heated part of the table... delicious! As usual, Oscar was not really interested in the cuisine but more in the aquarium which was in the lobby of the restaurant!
