Le 1er Noel d'Oscar en Auvergne - Oscar's 1st Christmas in the Auvergne

Oscar a passe son 1er Noel en Auvergne. On a commence par avoir la visite de mes amies, avec leurs petits bout-choux (Patricia et Olivier avec Elise, Nadege et Stephane avec Theo), on a ensuite dine avec Carine et Alban avec Anthony et Hermione, Myriam et Denis avec ???, et enfin Magali qui est venue nous voir jusqu'aux confins de l'Auvergne... Nous avons ensuite rendu visite a Aurelie et Sebastien: Oscar a revu sa petite-cousine Jeanne avec plaisir. Puis Meme Berthe, qui etait en pleine forme et qui s'est beaucoup amuse des explorations d'Oscar! Puis Meme Germaine et Tonton Gerard, qui ont eu la brilliante idee d'ouvrir une vraie caverne d'Ali-Baba pour Oscar: le placard des casseroles! Enfin, le grand moment: le 1er Noel. Oscar a -presque- tout seul ouvert ses cadeaux, a participe au repas de Noel et a bien profite de ses cousins Raphael et Irene.
Oscar spent his 1st Christmas in the Auvergne. We started with the visit of some friends, together with their little ones: Patricia and Olivier with Elise, Nadege and Stephane with Theo. Then we went for dinner with Carine and Alban, with their little ones Anthony and Hermione, and with Myriam, Denis and ???. Then Magali came to see us in Ambert. We went round to see Aurelie and Sebastien, and Oscar was really pleased to see their daughter Jeanne. Then Grandma Berthe, who was on top form and who was happy to see Oscar exploring her room! Then Grandma Germaine and Gerard, who had the great idea of opening up a real Ali Baba's cave for Oscar: the pan cupboard! Finally, the big moment: Oscar's first Christmas day. Oscar opened his presents (almost on his own), joined us for Christmas dinner and had a really great time playing with his cousins Raphael and Irene.

Oscar a 10 mois - Oscar is 10 months old

Oscar a maintenant 10 mois: au dernier compteur, il pese 8.250 kg et mesure 70 cm, c'est-a-dire une croissance normale mais pas tres rapide! Il faut dire qu'il est trop occupe a developper ses competences plutot que de grandir. Oscar se met debout tres facilement tout seul maintenant (regardez-le dans son parc qui s'impatiente!), il joue debout appuye sur la table basse, perfectionne meme son hollandais, il range (ou plutot derange) les DVD, etc... En tout cas, il est fin pret pour partir en vacances chez ses grands-parents: il peut partir tout seul en poussant sa voiture et a deja boucle sa valise!

Oscar is now 10 months old: at the last visit, he weighed 8.250 kg and measured 70 cm, which is normal but quite a slow growth! We have to say that he is too busy developping his skills rather than growing. Oscar can pull himself up easily now (look at him in his playpen getting impatient!), he plays leaning on the lounge table, even improves his Dutch, tiedies (well... in his own way) the DVD's, etc. Well, he is ready to go on holiday to his grand-parents: he can leave on his own by pushing his car and has already finished packing his suitcase!

L'aventure parisienne - The Parisian Adventure

Nous avons finalement ose aller passe un weekend a Paris, histoire de revoir les amis que nous n'avions pas vu depuis plus d'un an. Cela a ete l'occasion pour Oscar de rencontrer une nouvelle copine, Alice, de 2 mois plus jeune que lui, encore une a faire craquer! Nous avons passe un super sejour (merci Beccy & Bertrand). Promis, nous reviendrons bientot a la Capitale!

We dared in the end to go for a weekend in Paris, just to see again our friends we didn't seen for more than a year. It was a nice opportunity for Oscar to meet a new friend, Alice, 2 months younger than him, yet another future girlfriend! We had a great weekend at her home (thanks Beccy & Bertrand). We might come back soon in The Capital!

Comment Oscar passe ses journees... - How Oscar spends his time at the creche...

Oscar adore la creche (pourvu que ca dure!) et a des journees bien occupees. En dehors des sceances de chants de Noel (en hollandais bien sur) et des repas, il passe son temps a jouer avec les autres petits... ou a draguer!

Oscar loves the creche (I hope it will last!) and has busy days there. Appart from singing lessons with Christmas carols (in Dutch obviously), and meals, he spends his time playing with the other kids... or chatting up the girls!

Nouveautes de la semaine - Weekly news

Les nouveautes de la semaine sont qu'Oscar, qui marche tres bien a 4 pattes maintenant, n'arrete pas de vouloir se lever, il apprend petit a petit a deballer ses cadeaux (je suis sure qu'il apprendra ca tres vite!) - d'ailleurs merci Auntie Helen! - et a 2 dents de plus au compteur: et de 7 (desolee pour le nez...)!

The weekly news are that Oscar who is crawling quite easily now, can't stop trying to stand up on his own, he is learning how to unwrap his gifts (I'm sure he will learn that quikly) - thanks Auntie Helen! - and he has 2 more teeth: 7 all together now (sorry for the dirty nose)!

1er cadeau de Sinterklaas (merci Molex!) - 1st present from Sinterklaas (thanks Molex!)

Molex a organise une venue de Sinterklaas pour les enfants des employes et Oscar a bien profite de cette fete pour faire connaissance avec d'autres petits copains... Depuis il apprend a se servir de son super marteau avec bruits integres!

Molex organized a Sinterklaas party for employees' children where Oscar could meet some new friends... He is learning how to use his great noisy hammer since then!

Il a meme essaye le fauteuil de Sinterklaas! He even tries the Sinterklaas' armchair!

Sinterklaas arrive! - Sinterklaas arrives!

Vous ne le savez peut-etre pas mais ici, la plus grande fete de fin d'annee pour les enfants, c'est Sinterklaas! Selon la legende, Saint Nicolas arrive aux Pays-Bas mi-Novembre, ce qui se fete par de grands defiles comme celui que nous avons vu a Den Bosch aujourd'hui, et le clou de l'histoire est la nuit du 5 au 6 Decembre ou il repart en laissant aux enfants des cadeaux dans leurs chaussures. You maybe don't know but the biggest celebration at the end of the year for children overhere is Sinterklaas! According to the legend, Saint Nicholas arrives in the Netherlands mid-November, which is celebrated by big processions like the one we have seen today in Den Bosch. The end of the story is when he goes back the night from the 5th to the 6th December, he leaves some presents in children's shoes. Papy et Mamie de retour - Papy and Mamie are back

Ils sont de retour pour une semaine, et quelle semaine puisque Papy a 60 ans! Nous avons fete cela dignement avec champagne, sushis faits maison et pleins de calins pour Oscar! Il parle de plus en plus, fait coucou sur demande et reussi meme a se tenir debout tout seul (enfin presque!).
They are back for a week, and what a week: Papy is 60 years old! We celebrated with champagne, homemade sushis and lots of cuddles for Oscar! He is talking more and more, waves when we ask him and can even stand up on his own (well nearly!).

Rampant, baveux et bavard - Crawling, dribbling and talking

Oscar peut maintenant ramper, c'est sa version a lui du 4 pattes pour le moment, mais il avance! Il bave aussi beaucoup mais pas sans resultat puisque les dents 4 et 5 sont sorties (serait-ce les dents du bonheur?!). Il "parle" de plus en plus et profite, depuis quelques jours seulement, de son bain assis comme un grand (ou bientot debout, voyez plutot!).

Oscar can now crawl in his own way but he is fast! He's dribbling a lot also because his 4th and 5th teeth have now made an appearance. He has been "talking" more and more and has been enjoying for a few days sitting in his bath (or standing, check out the video!).

De plus en plus autonome - More and more autonomous

Ce weekend, Oscar a appris a "lire" des revues francais, a manger son pain tout seul et a rouler malgre les embuches!
Oscar learned this weekend how to "read" french magazines, how to eat his bread himself and how to roll over obstacles!

Baby-sitters venus de loin - Baby-sitters coming from far away

Grandma et Grandad etaient de retour car j'etais en deplacement pour 4 jours (ca m'a paru beaucoup plus long!). Oscar a ete sage avec ses "baby-sitters" et son Daddy: il a beaucoup pratique la station debout, feuillete des magazines anglais et appris a envoyer des sms en meme temps que Grandma et Grandad!

Grandma and Grandad were back because I was on a business trip for 4 days (which seemed a lot longer!). Oscar behaved with his "baby-sitters" and his Daddy: he tried to stand up, he read english magazines and learned how to send texts at the same time than Grandma and Grandad!
