Oscar decouvre Paris - Oscar discovers Paris

Nous avons ensuite passe une semaine a Paris, pour retourner aux endroits que nous aimions quand nous y habitions et pour faire decouvrir cette magnifique ville a Oscar. La 1ere decouverte a ete eprouvante: pour eviter la tres longue queue pour monter a la Tour Eiffel, nous avons opte pour le billet Escaliers... et 669 marches plus tard, Oscar est arrive le 1er!!! Il a adore monter, descendre et admirer la vue de la-haut.

For our 2nd week of holidays, we spend some time in Paris to go back to places we were used to love when we lived there and to show this beautiful city to Oscar for the 1st time. The 1st attraction was a bit tiring: to avoid the long queue at the Eiffel Tower, we decided to go for the Stairs tickets... and 669 steps later, Oscar arrived 1st at the top!!! He loved going up and down, and looking at the view from up there.

Nous sommes retournes au Cafe Rostand, en face du Jardin du Luxembourg, la ou Mark et moi nous sommes vus pour la 2eme fois... il y a plus de 11 ans...et nous avons ensuite marche a travers tout Paris: Notre Dame, la Tour Saint Jacques, le Louvre, le Jardin des Tuileries pour finir vers Opera. Oscar nous a epate en marchant sans meme raler!!!
We visited the Cafe Rostand, in front of the Luxemburg Garden, where Mark and I met for the 2nd time ... more than 11 years ago... and we walked across Paris for the whole day: Notre Dame, Saint Jacques Tower, The Louvre, The Tuileries Garden to end up at the Opera. We were amazed by how much Oscar walked without complaining!!!

Nous sommes aussi retournes dans notre restaurant japonais prefere (mais nous avons maintenant compris que les employes sont en fait chinois!) et la aussi, Oscar nous a surpris... il a adore les sushis, et avec les baguettes SVP! Notre passage au Japon aura finalement laisse plus de traces qu'on ne le pensait...

We also went back in our favorite Japanese restaurant (but we now understood that the employees are actually Chinese!) and here as well, Oscar astonished us... he loved sushi and ate them with his chop sticks! Our short stay in Japan might have left actually more things than anticipated...

Puis la journee tant attendue est arrivee: Disneyland! Oscar devait etre certainement le seul visiteur a ne vouloir voir qu'une seule chose... Malefice, la mechante sorciere de la Belle au Bois Dormant! Heureusement, nous avons trouve un vitrail la representant!!! Il a danse comme un fou quand le train amenant les personnages est arrive... et Goofy l'a meme salue! La journee s'est finie avec la parade qu'Oscar a adore, il etait vraiment emerveille...

Then the long awaited visit finally came: Disneyland! Oscar was probably the only visitor who was only looking forward to seeing one character... Maleficent, the horrible witch in Sleeping Beauty! Luckily, we were able to find a window where she was portrayed!!! He was all excited dancing when the train with the main characters came along and he even had a hug with Goofy. The parade at the end of the day was the highlight and Oscar was really mesmerized...

 

 

 

 

La derniere visite etait pour la Villette ou nous avons vu un film en 3D a la Geode et ou Oscar a experimente toutes sortes de choses a la Cite des Enfants.

The last visit was at la Villette where we saw a 3D film in the Geode (spherical cinema below) and where Oscar could experiment all sorts of interesting things at the Children's World.

Et nous avons aussi pu voir des amis notamment Marianne et Terence, Nadia, Rosa et leur parents, Monica et Victorien... et beaucoup d'autres lors du mariage de Anne et Ben le dernier jour de nos vacances.
And we could also enjoy to see friends like Marianne and Terence, Nadia, Rosa and their parents, Monica and Victorien... and many others at Anne & Ben's wedding on our last day of holiday.

 

Vacances ensoleillees en Auvergne - Sunny holidays in the Auvergne

Encore une fois cette annee, nous avons eu le plaisir d'aller passer une petite semaine de vacances a la campagne en Auvergne sous le soleil.
Ca a passe tres vite mais nous avons quand meme pu voir Jeanne et Paul, participer a la moisson du champ de ble devant la maison, faire des batailles d'eau et se beigner dans des seaux (dans la baignoire, ce n'est pas un poisson mais Matheo!), et feter les 40 ans de mariage de Mamie et Papy (quel evenement!).

Once again this year, we were lucky to be able to spend a nice week in the Auvergne. It seemed very short but we still had time to see Jeanne and Paul, to help out during the harvest in the field in front of the house, to play water games and take a bath in buckets (in the baby bath, it is not a fish... but Matheo!) and to celebrate Mamie and Papy's 40th Anniversary (what an achievement!).

Une Auvergnate a Londres - A girl from the Auvergne in London

Le 1er weekend d'Aout, Magali est venue depuis l'Auvergne pour nous voir et visiter un peu les environs.
Nous lui avons fait connaitre le coin, nous avons passe une journee entre filles a Londres, avec comedie musicale le soir et le dimanche, nous avons ete visite un des palais de la Reine: Hampton Court. C'etait genial, le temps etait radieux et la visite a ete ponctuee de surprises...

During the 1st weekend of August, Magali came to visit us from the Auvergne. We showed her around, we spent a day in London with a musical in the evening and on the Sunday, we went to Hampton Court. It was really nice, the weather was great and we had several surprises...

Et des trones rien que pour nous! C'etait en fait ceux utilises a l'arrivee de l'epreuve de velo sur route des Jeux Olympiques le weekend precedent!

And thrones just for us! It was actually the ones used the weekend before for the road race of the Olympics!
