Busy Halloween! - Debordes pour Halloween!

Le weekend d'Halloween a ete charge en evenements: d'abord, samedi matin, notre voisin Steve a ete assez gentil pour faire faire un tour a Oscar sur un camion de pompier datant de 1936. Il l'avait emprunte a son travail (le fabricant Dennis situe tout pres d'ici) pour un mariage dans l'apres-midi. Oscar etait super excite a l'idee de faire un tour dedans et de jouer au pompier... et Daddy aussi!

 The Halloween week-end was a busy one for us!  First of all, on Saturday morning our next-door neighbour Steve was kind enough to give Oscar a ride in a 1936 fire engine.  He had borrowed it from his company (the manufacturer Dennis, just round the corner from our house) in order to chauffeur a couple who were getting married that afternoon.  Oscar was very excited by the idea of being a fireman..... and so was Daddy!

Puis nous avons prepare Halloween, avec la 1ere citrouille creusee d'Oscar, des petites chauves souris (en boite d'oeufs) et une tenue de circonstance! Nous etions invites a la fete d'anniversaire de Rosa, pour ses 2 ans. Oscar s'est beaucoup amuse avec tous les autres enfants... il a bien tres dormi la nuit qui a suivi!

Then we got ready for Halloween, with Oscar making his first Halloween pumpkin and some very realistic bats (made out of egg boxes).  Oscar also had the perfect Halloween outfit!  We were invited to Rosa's 2nd birthday, and Oscar had a great time with all the other children...... and he slept like a log that night!

Happy Birthday Daddy! - Joyeux Anniversaire Daddy!

Cette annee, et pour la 1ere fois depuis ses 18 ans, Daddy aura fete son jour d'anniversaire "a la maison", chez Grandma et Grandad. Mark etait dans le Yorkshire pour le travail et Oscar et moi avons traverse Londres et pris au total un bus, 3 trains, 2 metros et la voiture pour le retrouver! Tout s'est bien passe et ca a ete une joie de pouvoir voir Louis, Auntie Helen, Auntie Claire, GGJ, Greatgrandma Tordoff, Grandma et Grandad pendant ce weekend. Daddy a ete tres gate...

This year, and for the 1st time since he was 18, Daddy could spend his birthday "at home", at Grandma and Grandad's. Mark was in Yorkshire for work and Oscar and I crossed London by taking a bus, 3 trains, 2 undergrounds and the car to finally meet him! Everything went fine and it was a pleasure to see again Louis, Auntie Helen and Auntie Claire, GGJ, Greatgrandma Tordoff, Grandma and Grandad during this weekend. Daddy was really spoiled...

 

Premiere visite eclair a Londres - First short visit in London

Comme nous avons la chance d'habiter tout pres de Londres maintenant, nous avons ete y passe un Dimanche. Le premier but de cette visite etait le London Bridge, puisqu'Oscar nous chante la chanson "London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down..." depuis un an! De chez nous en train, on arrive a Waterloo, puis apres le metro, nous sommes alles sur le fameux pont, qui heureusement ne tombait pas!

As we are lucky to live close to London now, we went there on a Sunday. The first goal of our visit was to see the London Bridge as Oscar is singing the famous song for a year! From our house, we arrived at Waterloo station, then with the underground we reached the famous bridge which was fortunately not falling down!

Nous avons vu le Tower Bridge, depuis le London Bridge... vous suivez?!

Puis nous sommes alles au London Eye, une grande roue installee depuis l'an 2000 au bord de la Thamise. Oscar avait deja eu l'experience de celle de Yokohama, alors il etait tout content!

Then we went to the London Eye. Oscar already went on a big wheel in Yokohama so he was actually very happy to go!

Puis la derniere etape pour ce jour etait le Natural History Museum, musee d'histoire naturelle, ou nous avons vu de gros dinosaures... mais on etait tous bien fatigues!

Lastly, we went to the Natural History Museum, where we saw enormous dinosaurs... but we were all quite tired!

Nous avons bien sur vu quelques 'incontournables' de Londres: les bus a imperiale rouges, le parlement avec Big Ben et Westminster derriere, et Buckingham palace!

We saw the London 'must see': the double decker buses, the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben and Westminster Abbey at the back, and Buckingham Palace!
