2 ans deja! - Already 2 years old!

Oscar a fete aujourd'hui ses 2 ans! En dehors des phrases standard du genre "ca passe vite", cela aura ete pour nous une journee particuliere etant juste arrives ici, mais c'etait vraiment tres sympa de parler et de voir Grandma et Grandad, Mamie et Papy, Tonton, Tata, Irene et Raphael, Helene et Louis, Claire, Dave et Nadia, etc... que de monde en une apres-midi, plus qu'on n'aurait pu en voir en vrai! Et puis, Oscar a adore son principal cadeau d'anniversaire (les autres aussi bien sur), un tricycle, que l'on utilisera pour aller au parc Yamashita, juste a cote de chez nous, au pied de la Marine Tower et au bord de l'eau (la baie de Yokohama) mais il en a deja bien profite dans l'appartement!

Oscar celebrated his 2nd birthday today! Apart from the standard phrases like "time really flies", it was a special day for us as we have only recently arrived here. It was also really nice to speak to and see everybody on Skype: Grandma and Grandad, Mamie and Papy, Uncle David, Auntie Gaelle, Irene, Raphael, Helen and Louis, Claire, Dave, Nadia etc.... all these people in one single afternoon, more than we could have seen in true life! And Oscar really loved his main birthday present (as well as the other ones), which was a tricycle, which we will try out at the Yamashita Park, which is not far from our apartment, close to the Marine Tower and close to the sea (Yokohama Bay). But he already had great fun just riding it round our apartment.

* cueillette de nos pommes (sur la terrasse!):

- Picking apples from the apple tree on our patio

* visite de Mamie et Papy, avec Odile et Dominique (pour la 1ere et la derniere fois a Den Bosch!): ils ont vu entre autres Kinderdijk et ses 19 moulins.

- Visit of Mamie and Papy, together with Odile and Dominique (for their first and last visit to Den Bosch)! They visited, among other things, Kinderdijk and its 19 windmills.

* un petit dernier weekend a Paris avant le grand depart, avec ses specialites et ses rencontres: nous avons rendu visite a Monika, David et Victorien (qu'Oscar n' a pas torture contrairement a ce qu' on pourrait croire sur les photos), a Marianne et Marco, et a Tonton et Tata, ou Oscar, Irene et Raphael ont adore jouer avec le robot Aibo de David. Oscar a aussi ete initie a Totoro, un super dessin anime japonais que Raphael et Irene adorent et qu' il a regarde de nombreuses fois depuis!

- A last weekend in Paris before the big departure. We visited Monika, David and Victorien ; Marianne and Marco ; Uncle David and Auntie Gaelle, where Oscar, Raphael and Irene had great fun playing with Uncle David's Aibo robot (apparently a work tool, not a toy ?!). Oscar also discovered Totoro, a famous Japanese cartoon which Raphael and Irene love, and which he has watched about 100 times since then!

* et puis bien entendu tout le ceremonial de Sinterklaas (pour la derniere fois egalement): l'"ïntocht", ou Sinterklaas arrive dans la ville, les chaussures ou on met le soir une carotte et un dessin pour "meriter" un cadeau le lendemain, et le jour de Sinterklaas, 5 decembre, ou Oscar a ete ravi de trouver ses cadeaux... et il a aussi eu un Noel, le chanceux: c'est l'avantage d'etre multi-culturel!
Sinterklaas was once again a special event in Den Bosch, for the last time :-(
Sinterklaas' arrival in the town, the shoes where we left carrots and drawings in order to get a present the next day, and the big day 5th December, when Oscar was really happy to get some presents. Then there was Christmas. Oscar's a lucky little chap, getting the benefit of a multicultural environment with two lots of presents!
