Nous avions vraiment envie de retourner a Den Bosch depuis que nous sommes rentres en Europe... voici chose faite! Et nous avons choisi le weekend ou Sinterklaas arrivait en Hollande avant ses 3 semaines de periple jusqu'au 5 Decembre. Nous avons pris le ferry de Douvres et les voyages ont ete tres "faciles"... rien a voir avec l'organisation necessaire pour partir en weekend au Japon! Ce weekend etait aussi le debut des preparatifs pour le carnaval alors la ville etait vraiment toute en fete: il y avait des groupes de musique partout et des gens deguises... Oscar a bien entendu adore! Et Mark et moi avons adore retourner dans notre cafe prefere, Bagels and Beans!
We had been looking forward to going back to Den Bosch since we came back to Europe this summer..... and now we have done it! We chose the week-end when Sinterklaas arrives in Holland before his 3-week journey leading up to 5th December. We took the ferry from Dover to Calais, and the journeys were really quite "easy"...... nothing like the organization required to go away for a week-end when we were living in Japan! This week-end was also the official kick-off of preparations for Carnaval, so the whole city was in party mood. There were bands playing all around the town, and lots of people dressed up in their Carnaval outfits. We also were really happy to go back (several times!) to our favourite cafe, Bagels and Beans, where you can get the best coffee (and the best welcome!) in Den Bosch!
Nous avons aussi pu revoir avec plaisir nos anciens collegues de Philips et de Molex... beaucoup de choses a se dire apres presque 2 ans!
We also managed to catch up with some of our former colleagues from Philips and Molex. We had so much to catch up on, after almost 2 years!
Et le dimanche place sous le signe de Sinterklaas... les souvenirs d'Oscar sont vite revenus une fois sur place!
On the Sunday, Oscar was thrilled to experience the superb Sinterklaas parade once again! He managed to get lots of free sweets from all the Zwarte Piets!
